The Capital Detachment #148 is one of 38 Detachments in the Department of Michigan, Marine Corps League.

The Detachment started in Lansing, Michigan in the 1940's as the Capital Area Detachment and in 1961 the Detachment was redesignated the Capital Detachment #148.

The Detachment has been a staple in the past for the Department of Michigan, Our Detachment has two Past Department Commandants, (PDC Roy Donald 1965-1966, PDC Phil Zamora 2009-2011) and currently we also have the Department Commandant Wendy Zamora and Department Historian Dale Erion.

Our Detachment is also moving forward on the National side, One member on the Military Order of the Devil Dogs Staff as the Kennel Quartermaster and another as the National Assistant Vice Commandant to the Central Division.
